Elder Support
An emerging part of my Coaching practice is Elder Support.
I coach senior clients (and their families) who are experiencing a life transition, such as the need to move into some kind of senior living environment or a shift in their ability to live independently.
Like all of my work, elder coaching is a client-driven process. My role as a wellness coach is to support clients in discerning both their needs and the realities of their circumstances while helping them to successfully navigate the life transition before them.

Coaching support for elder life transitions is ideal for older adults who …
Don’t have any close familial or friend support who are able to pitch in to help make things happen.
Have friends or family who are able to help but need help discerning what to do next or how to make it happen and/or to coordinate the effort.
Have friends or family that can provide support but live far away and someone local to help is required.
I have provided a variety of kinds of in-person support for my elder clients. In addition to directly supporting elders, I can also offer coaching support to families and friends who are supporting elders.
Coaching to discern needs and challenges
Identifying solutions for emerging challenges
Logistical support with moving or returning home after a medical event
Care Coordination
Elder Support Coaching is a very client-centered process: the focus is on what works best for you and how to bring it to fruition.
I offer to begin work with clients with a free 15-20 minute discovery phone call so we can get a feel for each other and make sure that Elder Support Coaching is right for you.
Our first session together will be 1.5-2 hours for me to learn more about your current situation and to build a vision for what you are seeking. We would decide at the conclusion of this session how to move forward and what the frequency of our work together might be and develop a budget for our work together. This initial meeting is billed at my Wellness Vision Rate (currently $100).
We will build an Elder Support Plan that is flexible and works for you. We will decide together what the frequency and duration of our meetings needs to be to fulfil your vision or transition needs.
I typically do all of my coaching work remotely (on Zoom or the phone). However, I can offer in-person support to Elders located in the Portland Metro area. I require a 3 hour minimum for in-person support and charge for travel time that exceeds 30 minutes. This work is billed at my ongoing session rate.
